Terms of Use

Effective date: October 6, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Horse Care Book app (“the app”), published by Chinese Powered (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies and takes precedence where the two differ; on Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply alongside these.

The short version

Horse Care Book is a record you keep. It is not veterinary advice and not an official veterinary or registry document.
Pro is a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time lifetime unlock, billed by Apple or Google and cancellable any time in your store account.
Your records live on your phone; we hold no copy and can't recover a deleted book. Keep a backup.

Not veterinary advice

The app helps you record care and reminds you of dates you or your vet set. Suggested intervals (for example, a farrier visit every six weeks or yearly core vaccines) are common starting points, not recommendations for your horse. Decisions about vaccination, deworming, hoof care, feeding, treatment and medication belong to you and your veterinarian, farrier or other professional. A health record made with the app is the owner's own log: it is not a veterinary certificate, a Coggins certificate, a passport or a registry document, and anyone relying on it should confirm vaccinations and test results with the attending vet. The competition check compares the vaccination dates in your book with the rule you choose; the horse's passport and the rules of your federation or event decide whether it may compete.

Reminders depend on your phone: notifications can be delayed or missed if they are turned off, the phone is off, the app is deleted or the device's clock or settings change. Don't rely on the app alone for anything time-critical.

Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, to keep records for horses you own, care for or manage. Don't copy, modify, sell, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, or use it to break the law.

Your content

What you enter — horse details, records, photos, notes — is yours. You're responsible for having the right to record and share it, including other people's names and details, and for its accuracy when you share a record with someone else.

Horse Care Book Pro

Pro is offered monthly or yearly as an auto-renewing subscription, and as a one-time lifetime unlock. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you confirm.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge, in your Apple or Google subscription settings — the app links to them under Settings.
Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the price shown unless cancelled before the trial ends. Trial eligibility is decided by the store.
Pro features (unlimited horses, no ads, complete health records, papers on file, photos on entries, spreadsheet export and the competition check) apply while the subscription or lifetime unlock is active on your store account. “Restore purchases” in the app re-applies them on a new device.
If Pro ends, nothing you recorded is deleted and every horse stays in your book. The free book keeps one horse fully usable (you choose which, and can change it once every 30 days); the others become read-only — you can read and share their records, but not add to them, and their reminders pause — until Pro is active again. The Pro-only extras stop.
Billing, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We never see your payment details.

The free version is supported by ads served by Google AdMob. Ads are third-party content; we don't endorse what they advertise. See the Privacy Policy for what the ad SDK collects and how consent works.

Your data

The app has no accounts and no cloud storage of ours. Your records are stored on your phone only; uninstalling the app, deleting its data, or losing the device means they are gone unless you kept a backup, and we cannot restore them (store purchases can still be restored). Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

We may update, add or remove features and prices, and may stop offering the app or Pro altogether. If Pro is discontinued, active subscriptions won't renew and the store's refund rules apply to any prepaid period. We'll post material changes to these terms here with a new effective date; continuing to use the app after that means you accept them.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows, including that reminders will always arrive or that records will never be lost. We are not liable for missed care, lost records, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from the app. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app or its in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.
